OK I used this Jeep in Florida and brought it back here to Illinois to use in the winter.
It has new seats (this year), a newer top (last year) and a new high pressure power steering hose (this month). It runs great and starts right up without a hitch. 4x4 works great with the manual hubs.
It has the 304 V8 in it with the 3-speed!
The body has some rust on it, but all the frame and load-bearing members and steel are nice and strong. I have included a couple pics of the spring mounts so you see that this thing is solid underneath. Even though it was a Florida Jeep, it never saw surf or saltwater. It was down in Lauderdale, where they don't allow driving on the beach. Cooling system works great and there are no leaks in it. Antifreeze is clean.
The heater has been taken out of the vehicle and the lines were cut. There wasn't ever a need for a heater in FL.
Tires are nice with a lot of tread left. They are 33x12.50x15s.
Insurance and blue books have it worth at between $4800 and $6000 depending on if it runs. Well, mine runs great! So. I'm starting the bidding at $4000 but my buy it now price is $5000.
I would like to sell it. but would rather trade it for an old school Harley chopper, bobber or muscle car.
AGAIN if you have a nice, running old school Harley Big Twin chopper, I would consider a straight trade. I'm not really interested in baby Harleys (Sportsters) unless it is REALLY tricked out and very old school. I am definitely NOT looking to trade on Hondas, Kawasakis or Triumphs unless they are, again, extremely awesome (I'm talking World of Wheels awesome)!
I might also consider an old school muscle car that runs.
Shoot me a message and let's see what you have. The worst I can say is no.
Oh I may also be interested in FOID items, but I'm definitely not going to trade this Jeep for a Rossi snub nose. I know my guns and their values very well.
